Gameplay

Basic Mode

Playing options poker is similar to Texas Hold'em. Instead of community cards that all players share in the makeup of their hands, players in Options Poker share a community "underlying". The underlying is the price action that dictates the values of the cards that each player is dealt and plays in their hand.

ANTE UP

The Ante for each game is 50 credits. This will be deducted from each player in the game and added to the pot.

PLAY BEGINS

When play begins, each player at the table is dealt two cards at random. The cards are often called the "hole cards".

At the same instant, two panels of underlying price action are presented. In the basic mode of the game, each underlying panel is applied to the hole cards respectively. In the advanced mode, the panels will be applied to the cards in sequential and cumulative effect (more on this will be explained later).

Applying the underlying panels to their respective hole cards dealt to the player creates a value for each card. This will be the process used for remaining cards yet to be played also.

The running sum of the players card values is the total of their hand, and is presented at the top right of the screen.

RAISE or FOLD

At this point, your two opponents have evaluated their hole cards and decided to Raise, Call, or Fold. When the player chooses their next card to play and presses "Play Card", they are then presented with the following screen:

Player must decide to Call or Fold

Options Poker uses a standard Raise amount of 20 credits. The player is not allowed the ability to Raise. Instead, the player can only choose whether to Call the raise or Fold their hand. If they fold, the player automatically loses the round.

If the player chooses to Call the raise, they are then returned to the front screen where the "Play Card" button is now highlighted in gold as below:

Play Card highlighted

This signifies that an action has been chosen but a card has not yet been played. The table is still waiting for a card to be played.

The player can now choose another card if they decide to change it. Pressing the "Play Card" button now officially plays the card chosen and the next community underlying panel will be presented.

The players newest card will be evaluated based on this new underlying panel, and their card total updated for the new value.

VIEWING THE TABLE DURING PLAY

At any point during play, the player may view the actions that their opponents have made by pressing the "View Table" button.

Table View during play

The table view during play shows the actions each player has made. This is where players can see if their opponents are Raising, Calling, etc. to help decipher what their opponents hands could potentially be.

It also provides valuable information when combined with the actual cards played when revealed at the end of the game.
